High speed ADC/DAC module family extended by VadaTech
VadaTech, a manufacturer of embedded boards and complete application-ready platforms, has added four new products to the range of GSPS ADC and DAC modules with integrated FPGA, available in OpenVPX and AMC form factor.
The AMC598 and VPX598 provide quad ADC (AD9208) with sample rates of up to 3 GSPS at 14-bits, and quad DAC (AD9162 or AD9164) at 16-bits with rates up to 12 GSPS and direct RF synthesis at up to 6 GSPS. These high sample rates make the products suitable for signal capture/analysis applications such as COMINT/SIGINT, radar, research and instrumentation. Each unit has an on-board, re-configurable UltraScale XCKU115 FPGA which interfaces directly to ADC/DAC and is supported by three banks of DDR4 memory (dual 64-bit wide and a single 32-bit wide for a total of 20 GB), allowing for large buffer sizes to be stored during processing as well as for queuing the data to the host.
The AMC589 and VPX589 provide the same ADC and DAC capabilities, but supported by UltraScale+ XCVU13P FPGA with 8GB of 64-bit wide DDR4. This high-performance FPGA includes 12,288 DSP slices and 3,780 thousand logic cells, making it suitable for the most challenging of applications.
These products extend the processing power and channel density of VadaTech high-speed signal conversion products, which are offered in multiple form factors to support challenging commercial and defence applications. VadaTech provides the full ecosystem of MicroTCA and OpenVPX products, including payload modules, chassis platforms, switches, and power modules. Rugged ATR chassis are available in several formats.
