RFID antenna recognises tools and workpieces in machines

An RFID antenna from Harting recognizes tools or production materials in an industrial environment.

The sMR20 antenna provides precisely defined read ranges down to 1m, which is an order of magnitude improvement over the currently accepted industry norm, says the company. As a result, items in close proximity to one another can be recognised and correctly assigned.

The antenna operates over 865 to 928MHz for worldwide use, and offers protection to IP 67. It is insensitive to potential sources of interference, and the antenna can be mounted directly onto a metal surface, making it suitable for tool recognition on production lines, identification of workpieces in machines, and manufacturing logistics.
