Konrad Technologies acquires V I Engineering

Konrad Technologies has announced that is has completed the acquisition of V I Engineering. The acquisition of V I Engineering provides Konrad Technologies with two strategic attributes to enable the acceleration of the expansion of Konrad capacity to serve the North American market for automated test solutions; industry acknowledged expertise in the National Instruments toolchains & platforms and local access to the vibrant technology hub in Detroit focused on Autonomous Driving and Electric Vehicles.

Dave Loadman, President & CEO of Konrad Technologies, stated that “as a result of our accelerating success in providing automated test solutions to the Automotive, Consumer Electronics and Medical Devices industries we were faced with a decision as to how to efficiently and quickly scale our operations to best serve our customers. In considering possible acquisition candidates it became obvious that the best and only choice was VI Engineering. Given our success in providing validation and manufacturing test solutions for ADAS related technologies, having a local presence in Detroit is an absolute requirement. As our turn-key automated solutions are based on the National Instruments platform, we are excited to add a world class development team with decades of LabVIEW experience and PXI knowledge. Most importantly, we are pleased to have Diane Tibbs (formerly President of V I Engineering) join the executive management team at Konrad Technologies, Inc. as our COO. Diane brings an operations and business acumen to Konrad that is necessary for us to achieve profitable growth at scale.”

Next Generation Freight Transport
As road freight transport levels continue to grow, concerns about the impact on the environment and human health come sharply into focus. Fossil fuel dependency makes it a leading source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, but shifting freight to other transportation modes will prove challenging. Solutions that will improve the efficiency and performance of road freight transport are therefore essential to achieve defined environmental goals. In this blog, we will explore a potential solution that has been pioneered by Siemens - called eHighway. This combines the efficiency of electrified railways with the flexibility of trucks in order to form an innovative, next generation freight traffic system that is efficient, economical and environmentally friendly.
