Intelligent video software provider, ObjectVideo, has signed a global patent license agreement with IP-based surveillance developer, VIVOTEK.

Owen Chen, chairman of VIVOTEK, believes that the application of intelligent devices in IP surveillance industry is critical.

"We have been planning to implement video analysis on various models from each product line," said Chen. "With algorithms available on our cameras, VIVOTEK can provide even more effective surveillance solutions to benefit the security industry."

"This agreement... covers our complete portfolio of intellectual property and is applicable to a wide range of products, including network cameras, encoders and servers," said Raul Fernandez, CEO of ObjectVideo. "We are fully committed to continued innovation, the licensing of our patents and software, and the protection of our inventions."

Earlier this year, ObjectVideo entered into portfolio-wide global patent licensing agreements with Tyco Security Products' American Dynamics business unit and Sony Corporation.
