Digi-Key and Maxwell sign global distribution agreement
Electronic components distributor, Digi-Key, has signed a global distribution agreement and will now distribute Maxwell Technologies products worldwide.
“As a global leader of energy storage and power delivery solutions, Maxwell Technologies is well-suited for Digi-Key’s line card,” said Dave Doherty, Digi-Key’s vice president of global support and product operations. “We are pleased to offer Maxwell’s ultracapacitor products to our global customers.”
Maxwell Technologies provides energy-efficient, environmentally-conscious energy storage and power delivery solutions that extend the limits of current conventions. Its products are designed and built to provide failure-free performance for the life of the most demanding applications.
“We are excited to partner with Digi-Key,” said Van Andrews, Maxwell’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Their dynamic, Internet-based business model and superior customer service will help to make our products and technical information on their use more readily available to the worldwide electronic design community.”
Maxwell’s primary focus is on ultracapacitors: energy storage devices that are characterised by high power density, long operational life, the ability to charge and discharge very rapidly, and reliable performance at extreme temperatures.
These products provide energy storage and power delivery solutions for applications in many industries including automotive, heavy transportation, renewable energy, backup power, wireless communications, and consumer and industrial electronics.
