Rohde & Schwarz SIT Encrypts iPhone Conversations
Up until now, extensive measures have been required to protect smartphone conversations from eavesdropping. Rohde & Schwarz SIT offers a compact solution for secure voice encryption: the TopSec Mobile crypto headset – now also for iPhones.
When high-ranking managers and officials converse on mobile phones, their conversations often contain information that is intended only for the person on the other end.
It is essential that details about product developments, financial data, strategic and political plans do not become public knowledge ahead of time. IT officers are responsible for ensuring secure encrypted communications on many different types of mobile phones (which are often used for both private and business calls).
The TopSec Mobile from Rohde & Schwarz SIT meets precisely these requirements. Smartphones can be used as usual, with no restrictions. For a confidential call, users simply use the crypto headset, which is activated via Bluetooth®. The conversation is now securely encrypted. The TopSec Mobile now supports iPhones as well as Android smartphones. Support of other platforms is planned.
"The TopSec Mobile combines proven security against smartphone manipulation with maximum flexibility for the user," states Winfried Wirth, President of Rohde & Schwarz SIT GmbH. "iPhone users can now also benefit from our practical, easy-to-use solution for absolutely secure telephony. The TopSec Mobile can be used anywhere in the world. The R&S VoIP-SERVER S110 has been optimized for the TopSec Mobile and can be used for the necessary call setup and voice communications. The standardized VoIP protocol also makes it possible to use public VoIP providers.
