Metal meets glass with the new IDOL 5

IDOL 5, the new family member of the Alcatel IDOL Series, is designed for the ‘Now Generation’ who loves shortcuts, requires fast & reactive content, and fresh, relevant experiences. It aims to offer the perfect package for those who fall for striking style and want a phone that allows them to do amazing things and capture amazing moments. IDOL 5 features an excellent camera and boosts the possibilities to share these moments instantaneously thanks to the innovative Dual Social Accounts.

“Our customers live in the now, so we made it our mission to create a flagship device that enables to get the most out of each and every moment. With IDOL 5, Alcatel is delivering exciting new immersive multimedia experiences and addresses the recurring painpoint of having to log in and out continusouly when holding two Social Media accounts. Sharing should be as easy as breathing”, said Eric Vallet, General Manager Europe.

Striking design language

IDOL 5 combines the latest technology and the latest design. It offers a stunning and slim 7.5mm build, hosting a solid metal body and a super bright 5.2-inch 423ppi display, all wrapped in 2.5D curved glass for silky smooth edges. Its seamless aluminium design is fused with stylishly slim curved glass.

The IDOL 5 features an 13MP rear camera, packed with f/2.0 aperture, a 1.12µm pixel size and an ultra-fast hybrid autofocus (PDAF+CAF) with dual-tone LED flash. It comes with a 5MP front camera with an astounding 84° wide angle lens and front facing flash, ideal for selfies.

Finally, as Social Media sharing is key, IDOL 5 offers fun and creative Video Story features which enables to pick and choose our favourite photos/videos and combine them into a short and shareable clip.

IDOL 5 is loaded with the new App Cloner function, allowing users to stay logged into multiple accounts on one social app. Different accounts can now be used on one single device to distinguish between personal and professional purposes, or personal and class conversations or groups, amongst other examples. We no longer need to carry two devices or sign in and out of WhatsApp and other social media accounts.

IDOL 5 is will be available in Metal Silver and Metal Black
