RFID transponders communicate across industrial systems

Industrial connectors from Harting are now equipped with RFID transponders, enabling specific data on the connector configuration to be linked with factory IT systems. The Han connectors, says the company can aid processes such as ordering spare parts.

The connector system is made of materials and seals that are UV and ozone resistant and which function over -40 to +125°C.

Impermeability to moisture, humidity, dust and dirt is also assured, says the company, with both connectors and RFID transponders designed to meet the requirements of IP 65/67 on moisture protection. Like the connector housings, all the components will withstand harsh environmental conditions, high temperature fluctuations at extreme levels as well as the use of corrosive liquids such as cleaning chemicals or oils.

The integration of RFID transponders allows the development and use of identification data and its integration into business database structures, including the ordering of spare parts, all in a convenient, quick and reliable manner.
