Contents:
The course explains the IMS Architecture and Concepts as it is standardised in 3GPP. Nodes interfaces and protocols for IMS are introduced also concepts for QoS and Charging, PCC are examined. Furthermore IMS/IP based services are explored and explained in detail by showing traces from real-life traffic cases. The course outlines different aspects of Troubleshooting and optimisation issues for service-, creation, Quality, verification and testing. The course provides knowledge of fundamental concepts for different measurement tools and parameters for IP-based services in the Mobile World and IMS through theory combined with hands-on exercises.
Log-File Analysis and Exercises:
Every chapter (when available) and topic covered in the course is described in detail by looking at log-files collected from the live networks.
The exercises include calculation, observation and validation of key parameters and are designed to give more understanding on the topics. No additional equipment needed.
Pre-Requisites:
General knowledge about mobile networks and networking concepts is recommended. For background knowledge, we recommend the APIS course GSM/UMTS/EPS System Overview and TCP/IP in the Mobile Networks.
