Derived electrical and physical constants
- table or chart of a number of derived electrical and physical constants used in a variety of ways including in electronics design.
Although many constants are what may be termed primary or fundamental constants, such as the speed of light in a vacuum, others are derived. They are nevertheless often used in mathematical, physics or occasionally some may be useful for electronics calculations. Often when used in electronics calculations they are used in some way in the design of electronic equipment.
| Constant | Value |
|---|---|
| Permittivity of a vacuum, e0 | 8.85418 x 10-12 J-1 C2 m-1 |
| Gas Constant, R (=Nk) | 8.314 J mol-1 K-1 |
| Faraday constant of electrolysis, F (=Ne) | 9.649 x 104 C mol-1 |
| Specific charge on an electron, e/me | 1.759 x 10 |
| Specific charge on a proton e/mp | 9.578 x 107 C kg-1 |
| Specific charge on an alpha particle | 4.822 x 107 C kg-1 |
