CDMA2000 Band Classes

- cell phone band and frequency allocations used by the CDMA2000 cell phone system

The CDMA2000 cell phone system is designed to be used in existing cellular telecommunications frequency allocations in addition to those cell phone bands assigned to IMT2000 (3G). The actual band allocations used for cell phones vary from one country to another, dependent upon the frequency allocations available.

The various CDMA2000 mobile phone bands available are assigned "band classes" to define the allocation in which the particular cell phone network is operating. Often these band classes are bands that have been previously used by analogue cellular services that have been discontinued.
