electronica is probably the largest electronics trade fair.

The electronica event not only provides an excellent area to see the latest electronics technology, but electronica also provides an excellent way to network with leaders in the electronics and technology businesses.

This biennial trade fair is now well established and is seen as one of the major events in the calendar.

electronica covers the whole field of electronics and covers all areas of electronics. There is a diverse range of components, pioneering hardware and software solutions and complete systems and applications. This is all contained within 143,000 square metres of exhibition space. It covers all aspects associated with the electronics industry and all major leading electronics manufacturers and distributors are generally represented.

Previous electronica events

The 2012 electronica event was particularly successful, despite the gloomy economic outlook for the time. It saw an increase in attendance with over 72,000 visitors and with a total of 2,669 exhibitors from 49 countries.

electronica travel and accommodation

There is plenty of accommodation within Munich for people attending electronica. Hotel reservations can be made via Tradefairs.com - there are links and further details on the main electronica website.

Also travel is easy. Munich is served by its own airport which is in itself a major hub - there are frequent services to most places.

Transport to and from the electronica is easy. It is easy to access by car, and it is close to the U-Bahn. The exhibition is located directly on the following stops: Messestadt West (the event main entrance) and Messestadt Ost.

The U-Bahn line U2 direction Messestadt Ost runs from 4:00 in the morning to 1:00 at night, and takes you directly to the Messe Munchen and the ICM. During peak times it runs every 5 minutes.

electronica recommends purchasing an unlimited day pass (Tageskarte) for 11 Euros. This is a particularly convenient ticket as it allows unlimited travel within the central zone for its duration. Additional tickets will be needed for travel to and from the airport.
